"Hello,

my name is Aricia, I am French and a nurse. I stayed ten days to volunteer in the Camilian center.

I am on a long trip in Asia , and after a month in Thailand, I realized that something was missing. I wanted to help and integrate into a structure related, directly or indirectly, to healthcare. After some research, I discovered the Camilian Social Center in Chang Rai. I sent them an email to let them know I would like to volunteer. Jirasak was immediately very welcoming. So, I arrived a week after sending the email.

Jirasak and Sister Cecilia warmly and gently welcomed me. I was well accommodated, and the food was very good!

I meet the children, and I immediately adored them. They were also very warm in welcoming me into the center.

Here is the typical schedule of one of my weekdays :
In the mornings, I organized an English class, usually focused on health topics. I was pleasantly surprised by the children's good level and their receptiveness! It was a great pleasure to lead these classes with them.

In the afternoons, I suggested more playful activities, like washing hands or brushing teeth. These activities went very well, and I loved discreetly observing some of the students replicate these actions during the week without being asked. A very beautiful experience!

I was also able to accompany the center's nurse in the afternoons while helping with some dressing changes. I was able to assess some of the children's skin problems and wounds.

Besides that, I still had time to explore this beautiful village in the evenings at sunset. I also went on a day trip to discover the surrounding mountains. Beyond a rich human experience, it was also full of discoveries related to biodiversity and culture.

This experience at the center, meeting these children, remains one of the most beautiful memories of my trip to Thailand.
I am very grateful to have experienced this, thanks to the staff, Jirasak, Sister Cécilia, and especially the children!
