Hello my name is Sasinipa Choed. You can call me Namwan. I'm 18 years old and I came to do volunteer work here because my friend told me about Home of Charity. So I chose to volunteer here.
On my first day here, the children were very happ y to talk and play with me. They're so cute. I can remember each of the children's names.

The care-givers (named P'Jiji, P'Porn, P'Boo, P'Boom and P'Nid) gave me advice on how to take care of the children. I got to know the other volunteers as well. They were all from different countries. We greeted each other and I was really excited and they were super friendly.

When I started working as a volunteer, I got to know many things. There are children with physical and intellectual disabilities. Some children can't help themselves and have to sit in a wheelchair. Some children need someone to feed them. I would give them baths and I help the children put on their clothes after bathing. I also helped to feed some of the children. One child that I often would feed food to was a young boy named Danai. He was the first child that I helped to feed. After that, I fed him all the time. At that time, I was told by Mr. Jirasak that this week I had just arrived, there was an event called "De Lellis Camp" that was being held for this week. The children at the Home of Charity also participated in this very fun week of activities!

During De Lellis Camp I did a lot of activities with the children and I had a lot of fun. I colored many pictures with the children. Many of the children are very good at coloring! It's surprised me. In the afternoon, the children and I made desserts together. We made banana cake Sago with pork filling and Bua Loy. It's really fun. I was the one who taught the children how to make it and the children helped to make it and we ate it together. It's very delicious, we did many public activities with the other children, and on the last day we went to the elephant camp. There were 3 elephants there and the children very happy and excited to feed the elephants and had a lot of fun. Some of the children shocked because the elephants were so big. It's my first time feeding the elephants and it was a good time!

After the De Lellis Camp ended, I helped the children pack up their clothes because the school term was ending and most of the children could go home. On the day they were going home, I stayed with the children waiting with them for when their parents came to pick up them up. The children very happy. They had smiles of happiness.

While many children were able to go home, some children couldn't go home because there was no one to take care of them. So I stayed with them during the school break. I cared for those children still there came to play with them every day. Sometimes the sister takes the kids out for trip. During that time, there were two kids who very close to me: Techin and Bu So (her other name is Chaba) We would do the laundry together after every meal. We would often play with spring board together in the evening, and I helped these two bathes and brush their teeth and help to put them to bed.

On the first day of the school term, the children returned. All the children had smiles. Someone bought snacks to give to their friends. I also came to welcome the children. I talked to many of the children and asked how they were. Other volunteers also came to welcome them back. I tried to spend as much time as possible with the children because I had to go home the next day. On the day I returned home, I came to talk and say goodbye to the children. P'Jiji, P'Porn, P'Boo, P'Boom and P'Nid, Jeffrey, Shirley, Pa Dao, Mr. Jirasak and Sister also came to say goodbye to me. I was really heartbroken. I feel that the time really passed so quickly, it was like I had only been here for a short while.

I myself felt sad to leave the children. I almost cried in front of the children, but I held it back. But I told the children that if I had the chance, I will come back again. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone here for always taking care of me and helping me. I really appreciate that this place has become my home and family. I love the people and here very much. When I have the opportunity, I will return. Definitely coming again. May everyone be very happy.
