I am Bill from Taiwan

In the summer of 2014, I went to CSCC for volunteer with three friends.    Before going there, we had prepared a lot for kids, such as stationery and games to play with them. Of course we were very excited about joining this big family.

As we arrived in CSCC, we found that there were other foreigners being volunteers as well. That was awesome because more friends bring more fun.

We meet a lot of angels here. Piya, a lovely boy, became friend with me at the first time we meet. English and body language were ways how we communicate with each other. His English ability is extraordinarily good. We usually took a walk before dinner together, and l let him lead the way wherever he wants to go. One night when we about to go to bed, he asked me to sit beside him, and he gave me a necklace as a gift. It means a lot to me because Piya takes me as his friend rather than just a volunteer. Although kids here have some problems physically, they definitely have no difference between normal children. They also need family, friends, care and of course love.

One thing we had to do every day is feeding meals for kids. Tan was the one who I feed during I stay in CSCC. In the beginning, I fed him because I thought that he cannot do it by himself. Few days later, sister told me that Tan can absolutely do it by himself so just assistant him is okay. Fortunately, sister told me that, otherwise i would never know and did a big mistake. I learned a lesson from this, we can´t do all the thing for kids. We have to put ourselves in children’s shoes.
