From Chinese volunteer - Demi
My name is Demi from China
I´m very grateful that Camillian Social Center Chiangrai gave me an opportunity to be a volunteer. I have stayed here about one and a half month. I´m so happy here. Jirasak picked me up at airport. The first time when I saw the CSCC.I was shocked. The CSCC is so huge. It has field and fishpond. The housing conditions are very good. It is in the village. Its environment is great. And I lived in a private room.
There are 25 children in the home of charity. Although some of them are with learning difficulties. They are so clever and smart! I taught them sensory/general konwledge. I´m free to choose the topics, such as, Chinese, painting, handicraft, singing or whatever. Every child is unique and individual. Asong likes playing tricks with everyone. Phasut likes frowning all the time. It doesn´t mean he is unhappy. I fed him every day. Milang is lively. She always played with me when she saw me. Mint has a great memory, although she has issues with her thinking capability. Chonticha can paint and write very well. Losae was interested in my pictures. Anor is very cute. We like flapping each other´s hands. I love all of them.
The staffs and Sister Cecilia are very kind and patient. Staffs take care of the children from the timethey wake up till they go to bed at night. They are friendly to me. Jirasak is kind-hearted. He took me and other volunteers to white temple and Golden Triangle, he would sent and fetched me from the airport every time I travelled. I´m so thankful for what he did. Volunteer Jessica is also friendly. Her mentality is so young. She is more lively and optimistic than me sometimes. I like communicating with her. The food here is very delicious and tasty. I miss Chan´s cooking very much.
During public holiday, I had the opportunity to travel to Bangkok and Chiangmai. During weekend, I have travelled to Chiangrai city for shopping and food. I went to Black House. It is weird and fantastic. I also went to the Mae Fah Luang University by bike. It is said that it´s the most beautiful university in Thailand. I tried to learn Thai, it is so difficult for me.
These children are unfortunate. But on the other hand, they are lucky. They have been cared for everything. The attention, education, food and shelter. I want to stay longer, but I have to finish my study. I will be back to CSCC in near future to be re-united with the children, and to share their development progress.
Thanks to CSCC,I met these lovely kids and guys. This volunteer experience will affect me deeply in my life.
