At the moment I’ve been here for seven weeks and will stay here for almost two more weeks. But I wish I could stay for longer.

I really enjoyed the time I spent here. The Home of Charity has become my home for this time. Everybody was very friendly and the children were happy if I had time to spend with them. So it wasn’t difficult to feel home here.

The Children have always been very motivated to have some exercises. At home I used to work as a speech therapist and so I tried here to do something else. Of course it was not possible to work on every language “stage”. I did eating therapy, working on cognation,   concentration, communication on different levels, articulation, activating a turn taking, writing and reading in English, start with an alternative language (Bliss Symbols).

I always wanted to demand what they can do and what they could learn. Of course it would be great if a speech therapist with knowledge of the Thai language will come to this place. There would be enough work for two speech therapists….. It would be a great experience.

I also learned from the children. I was very impressed by their cheerfulness and merriment. Thank you for the wonderful time I could spend with you.

During my time here there were also here two occupational therapists, a physiotherapist and a teacher. I really enjoyed the time I could spend with you. I could learn a lot and we had also fun together. I will never forget the Austrian coffee and cake time in Chiang Rai…

At the weekends we had also time to see something from the environment. And in the evenings we could go for a bicycle ride through the rice fields.

Once we went with Jirasak to the Golden Triangle. And once we had the possibility to visit with the care team a village.
 
Thanks also to the cook. It was not possible to lose some kilos because it was always so good.
